ABOUT THE POSITION:
Kaufman County is recruiting to fill the position of Assistant Court Coordinator in the County Judge Department.
The Assistant Court Coordinator aids the Court Coordinator and the County Judge.
(The following duties represent the principal job duties; however, they are not all-inclusive.
) Provides excellent customer service over the telephone and in person.
Schedules Commissioner's Court meetings.
Prepares and posts Commissioner's Court agendas for regular meetings, special meetings, and workshops.
Posts legal notices required by law.
Schedules probate hearings and prepares files for the County Judge.
Maintains court dockets and files.
Enters dates in Odyssey.
Confirms orders signed by the Judge.
Maintains school census records and responds to requests pertaining to such records.
Schedules and make travel arrangements for the County Judge.
Schedules meetings/appointments for the Judge.
Responds to inquiries from the general public, Elected/Appointed Officials, Department Heads, and county employees regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the County by phone, regular mail, email, and/or in person.
Ensures policies and procedures of the court are understood and carried out.
Reviews pleadings that are filed.
OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Assists with the annual budget.
Processes delayed and amended birth records.
Processes indigent burial applications received.
Processes county contracts.
Assists Elected officials and County employees with oath and bond paperwork.
Orders and maintains office supplies.
Distributes incoming mail to the County Judge.
Regular attendance is required.
Assists court as needed in the absence of coordinator.
Assists in handling all non-routine administrative matters.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFYING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
County and State legal principles, practices, and procedures, current legal practices, and procedures.

Supplemental Information EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the qualifying knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.
High school diploma (or GED certificate) is preferred.
Two (2) years office experience is preferred.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid and appropriate Texas Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment in this class series.

Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned, smoke-free office.
Continuous work at a computer keyboard.
Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm) will be required to meet deadlines and accuracy requirements.
Will require some travel for conferences and training.
